About Memorial Drive
Memorial Drive runs 14 kilometres east-west along the north bank of the Bow River, connecting northwest Calgary to the northeast. The western section is a tree-lined parkway — a living memorial to World War I soldiers with poplars planted in 1922 — that transitions into a freeway east of Edmonton Trail before reaching Deerfoot Trail.
