About Crowchild Trail
Crowchild Trail is a 22-kilometre arterial and expressway connecting southwest Calgary to the northwest, carrying over 100,000 vehicles per day at its busiest point — the Bow River bridge. The corridor passes through the University of Calgary area and serves as the primary commuter link between southwest residential communities and the university/hospital employment node.

Crowchild Trail NW Ramp Resurfacing
Ramp resurfacing starting May 2026 at Shaganappi Trail, 53 Street NW, Sarcee Trail NW, Nose Hill Drive NW, and Crowfoot Parade NW. Nighttime work only to minimize commuter disruption.
Long-Term Corridor Upgrade Plan
A $1.3-billion program for major corridor upgrades to a minimum six-lane standard throughout. Implementation anticipated beyond a 10-year horizon.
